Live a life worthy
March 7, 2018Live a life worthy

Ephesians 4:1-6 (NIV) “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all,
The calling we received from God to come to Jesus Christ by faith is a call to live a radically changed life for the glory of God. We are to live lives that are “worthy” of what we have been given in Christ. The Spirit of God dwells inside every true believer producing the “fruit of the Spirit” {Gal. 5:22-23}, which always leads to peace and unity. When we walk in peace and unity, we magnify the Lord Jesus Christ and show the world that there is something truly different about us.
God is telling us that when our duty lines up with His doctrine; when our practice lines up with His principles; when our walk lines up with His Word, the world is not “worthy” of us. Paul’s challenge is we live our lives so that God might be glorified and that the world might see the evidence of God’s saving grace and of faith in His Word.
