Isaiah 43:18-19 "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert." At this point God was not condemning the Israelites for their past, they could do nothing to change it. Instead God was holding out the hand of hope. He is in effect saying: Forget about your past -- I am giving you an opportunity to start over. The first step to embracing the new thing that God wants to do in our life is to, change our focus, quit looking behind, and start looking ahead. God is a God of new beginnings. That's right! He is multifaceted and always wants to show you and me an aspect of Himself that we have never seen before. He wants us to see and experience abundance like we have never before experienced it. Not necessarily material only, but in particularly spiritual! We may have failed some troubling circumstances or struggling challenges, or even some unbearable situations, but the good news is that that is behind us. If we want to experience the power of God in our lives, it is critical that we find out what God's will is, and what He promises in His Word. When we begin thinking differently about our life, we realize it's time to get rid of the old attitudes, habits and lifestyle that we have been living and holding on to, and usher in the new! By standing on God's Word, walking in faith, and obedience, and love, first toward God, and second toward others, because these three commandments are the keys to activating our trust and confidence in God. God is ready to reveal His glory to you and me in a new way; the question is, are we ready to receive it?
