[note]Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:10[/note]
One of the greatest fear of humans is the fear of the unknown. The fear of the future. The fear of tomorrow. In fact, the root of worry is embedded deep in the question “what will happen next? What will happen tomorrow?” When we face issues in our lives, it is usually the action of fear and worry that cripples us.
As Christians why should we be different? The fact that we believe in an omnipresent God! We usually think of omnipresent in terms of location, that God is capable of being in all places at once. Have you thought about God being omnipresent in time too? That means when you start a new day, God is already at the end of that day. He already knows how the day will go, nothing catches him by surprise. When you start a new year, God is already at the end of the year waiting for you.
Just like the scripture above says, the Lord has declared the end from the beginning. He know the outcome of every challenge you are facing. All he asks of you is that you in trust Him. He wants you to put your faith in Him solely and be at rest in him.
Worry is so distracting. Its power can alter the course of your day, your emotions, your actions and even your health!
Faith is realising that there is a greater God at work, a God greater than your situations. Faith is knowing that God is already at the end of your situation and that regardless of all, HE is still God. When we have faith, let us have it only in God, in whom HE says He is. In His love and goodness. We trust His goodness. Every situation is for the glory of God and His glory is fully demonstrated in His love. Isn’t that wonderful?!
Let us be reminded of the lyrics of this hymn:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
May his love and peace envelope you for the rest of 2014 and forevermore. AMEN! Relax, He has the whole world in His hands!
