[note]So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. Luke 15:20 (NLT)[/note] The scripture is taken from the parable of the prodigal son as told by Jesus. What a beautiful story! It gives us an incredible example of how great our God’s love can be. Even when we constantly disobey him and stray away, he is there with his arms wide open, waiting for us to return to him. Just like the father of the prodigal son, God looks past your failures, sins, and shortcomings and welcomes you home whenever you come back. Just like the father of the prodigal son, God celebrates your return. Although He never stopped loving you, He wants you back in his arms so he can hold you and make everything alright again.
His mercy endures forever. God’s grace and mercy is so great yet hard to comprehend.
The devil knows that God is always ready to take you back, so he tries to make it hard for you to return to him. He proceeds to plant seeds of sorrow, regret and guilt in your heart. Even when you have sought for forgiveness, and God has forgiven you, the shame and guilt you feel makes approaching God awkward. However, just remember that God is waiting for you, He is ready to forget your rebelliousness and take you back so that you can move on and continue your glorious life in Christ.
Do not wait until the devil has dealt with you severely before you recommence your relationship with God. Take action Now!
[blockquote2] Lord, Thank you for making the blood of Jesus available to me. I know that I have strayed away from you. I hereby ask for the forgiveness of all my sins. Give me grace to sin no more. In Jesus’ name. Amen. [/blockquote2]
