Prayer and faith always go hand in hand. Praying to God without faith is like throwing rubber balls at a concrete wall and surely as you know they will bounce back. Many times you have prayed for things that you so desire and you end up angry or maybe surprised when it seems that God didn’t answer. Take a quick look at the things listed below, one of them could be the reason you didn’t receive an answer:
[note]For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV). [/note]
God has not put any ounce of fear in us and if God didn’t put it there, that means that you have allowed the devil to sow it there. Do not fear concerning what you are praying about. Always remember that God never leaves the control room. He will never allow the enemy to take over. So what are you fretting about? The enemy will always try to sow fear into your heart to make you think that you can’t conquer your situation. But you can! If he makes you think that you can’t then you won’t.
[note]But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:6 (KJV)[/note]
Doubt makes you question God’s ability. Can God really do it? This is taking too long. It does look like God is answering me. These are all thoughts of doubt and they eventually lead to you having option to God. Once you have a second option, it shows that you do not have faith in God which is why doubt eventually leads to unbelief. Unbelief is deadly.
Murmuring and Complaining
[note]Do everything without complaining and arguing, Philippians 2:14 (NLT)[/note]
Even you will have to admit that listening to somebody whine and complain about things is one of the most annoying things ever. If you can’t take it, why do it to God? In 1Cor 10:10, Paul warned the people of Corinth against grumbling and complaining “And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.” Complaint is the direct opposite of thanksgiving and if you do not give thanks to God, don’t expect anything from Him. Just like if you do not say thank you to last year’s Christmas present do not expect another one this year!
Dear God, I thank you for the opportunity that you have given me through your son Jesus Christ to make my supplications known to you. Lord, I believe that you hear me anytime I call upon your name. I therefore rebuke every spirit of doubt, fear and of murmuring and complaining. Thank you Lord for hearing me. In Jesus’ name.
