[note]The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30 (NKJV) [/note] Right now, as you read this, somebody somewhere is contemplating suicide. Somebody somewhere is crying because they feel so lost and hopeless. Somebody somewhere is about to take someone else’s life. But why are they doing these? Because they do not know better. They do not know that to take your own life is to run to the gates of hell begging the devil to let you in. They don’t know that Jesus came with hope to seek and save the lost. They don’t know that Jesus commanded us to love one another because if you love, you won’t kill.
It is impossible to be a christian and have no testimonies of wonderful things God has done in your life. Being alive is a great testimony in it self. God has so many wonderful things going in your life. God’s love is so wonderful that you cannot afford to keep it to yourself. God’s love is something to shout about! It is selfish to keep all the love for yourself. Don’t worry, there is enough to go round! There are so many people out there who are stuck in one situation or another. There are are so many people wandering around hopelessly. Jesus came because you and other people like this. However, He will not come down on earth to spread the good news. Why? Because that’s your job!
As a Christian, you are God’s ambassador. You are here on earth to represent him. An ambassador displays the glory of his/her country in a foreign land. An ambassador does not hide his/her nationality.
The meaning of the word “gospel” is “good news”. You will admit that it is challenging to keep goodnews to oneself. You just wanna scream and shout it out! Without Christ, one will live in crisis. Introducing Christ into the lives of others is introducing joy and an end to every sorrow and pain. Shouting about the gospel does not mean having unnecessary arguments with atheists. This is complete foolishness! Jesus told his disciples what to do when the gospel is not received: “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” Matthew 10:14 (KJV). Do not be discouraged. Simply move on to the next opportunity. Ultimately, it is not our persuasive words that will lead anybody to Christ but all that are drawn are drawn by the Spirit of God.
Don’t worry about that! The bible says: “I [am] the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it” Psalm 81:10 (KJV). The Holy Spirit of God will give you what to say at each point in time. You can also share your own testimony with the individual if you feel it is appropriate. Even if you are the shiest person on earth, once the Holy Spirit takes over, you will be bold as a lion. However, it is important to pray before you go out. Ask God to lead you to the right people and give you the right words to speak.
Remember, it is the Lord that draws!
Lord, Thank you for saving me. I ask that you help me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ whenever I can. Holy Spirit be my guide and speak through me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
